| Steve Knight | President Read profile [−] As President, I am fully committed in supporting the event ideas of my committee, together with increasing the profile of Leicester SCRUBS to senior figures in the medical community. During my year as president, I aim to increase the number of events focused on teaching surgical skills to our members (e.g. suturing, surgical knot tying and laparoscopy), continue the successful "career in.." lecture series and, in the longer term, improve the teaching of surgical specialities within the medical school curriculum. Ideas and feedback from our members is always welcome (leicesterscrubs@hotmail.co.uk) - anything that can improve our future events is extremely useful to us

| Kriti Singhania | Vice President Read profile [−] Hey Everyone, My name is Kriti – you’re Vice President on SCRUBS. I help with the organization and catering for different events that SCRUBS throw and attend meetings with the President to help extend SCRUBS profile to benefit you- the members. This year I have tried to come up with new ideas and proposals to try and make SCRUBS bigger and better – allowing its members to gain a lot more. I aim to continue to support the rest of the committee in their ventures and continue to try and increase the variety of events SCRUBS has to offer – helping you all decide whether Surgery is for you and for those of you like myself who have wanted to be Surgeons since they can remember – explore different specialties and gain the skills and information required to help you achieve your dream. Please get in touch with myself or any other member of the committee if you have any queries or feedback from events or even to let us know what events you want us to throw. I am also the port of call for all of you that want to order a fabulous SCRUBS hoody – so please get in touch (kriters41@hotmail.com) and put SCRUBS Hoody as the subject! More information regarding this will be available on the website shortly. Thanks =D

| Tristan Boam | Treasurer Read profile[−] Hi, I'm Tristan - soon to be a 3rd year at the time of writing this! As Treasurer my job is to manage the bank account - this basically involves budgeting and making sure that the money we do spend is spent on things that all members can benefit from. Another major part of my job is liasing with our sponsors and organising their involvement in events. This year I will be setting up a suturing course aimed at Phase 1 students and those Phase 2 students that want to brush up on their skills, I hope that you will all enjoy this and other things we have to offer just as much as we enjoy setting them up!

Alex Newman | Secretary Read profile [−] As secretary my role is to ensure that the society runs as smoothly and as efficiently as possible such that the members can get the most from it. This includes the somewhat less glamorous jobs such as minute taking in meetings, arranging the Leicester SCRUBS membership and replying to any emails. I also fully support other Leicester SCRUBS committee members’ ideas and events helping out however I can as well as promoting orthopaedics which is my favoured surgical speciality. As I am now in my final year you will not find me hanging around the MSB but if you catch me in the hospitals please feel free to ask me anything regarding Leicester SCRUBS – or anything else for that matter.

| Sonal Tripathi |
WInS Representative
Read profile [−] Hi everyone, my name is Sonal and I am the WinS rep for this year. Surgery is a male dominated specialty despite the fact that over half the medical undergraduates are female. My role is to break the barriers that certain myths have created and deter women from considering surgery as a future. I will organise events that will help answer questions about choosing surgery as a career and hopefully show everyone that there are more options and choices available with surgery as a specialty.
Despite the fact that my role is to promote surgery to women, it is not exclusive! Everyone is welcome to attend our events and hopefully obtain useful information about this specialty. So I hope to see you all there :-)
